Healthcare Provider Resources

Any physician or midwife who agrees to collect cord blood for public donation must view a short online training presentation and complete a post-test assessment.

  • The total time commitment for this activity is less than 10 minutes.
  • Yearly recertification is required.
  • The training must be completed before the cord blood is collected.

We ask that all physicians/midwives in your clinic who could potentially deliver the patient’s baby and subsequently collect the cord blood be trained. If a cord blood unit is collected by a physician/midwife who has not successfully completed the training, the cord blood cannot be banked.

If you are a provider and need to complete your certification or re-certify please call (919) 668-1122 24 hours a day and our staff will be glad to assist you.
